Position Summary

The Infrastructure Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and strengthening our enterprise infrastructure. This position supports and enhances our server, storage, and networking environments while adhering to established standards and best practices.

This role requires strong technical depth, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on complex initiatives. The Infrastructure Support Specialist partners closely with the Team Lead, Infrastructure Support, and the AVP of Corporate Information Systems to ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and reliable.

Essential Functions
  • Support, maintain, and assist with implementation of enterprise server, storage, and networking systems.
  • Adhere to technical standards and practices established by the Team Lead, Infrastructure Support, and the AVP of Corporate Information Systems.
  • Provision enterprise infrastructure resources to support other technology teams.
  • Provide email, telephone, and in-person technical support to internal departments as directed.
  • Manage network data backup and recovery processes, including data replication, maintenance, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Work independently on complex projects, applying experience and sound judgment to achieve established goals.
  • This role requires after hours on-call support as scheduled by the Team Lead Infrastructure Support.

 

Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Minimum of four years of combined education and experience administering complex data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies within a data center setting.
  • Working knowledge of data center design standards.
  • Foundational understanding of network switching, routing, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining a variety of enterprise server hardware.
  • Understanding of enterprise-grade storage systems.
  • Experience administering operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory environments.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
