Infrastructure Support Specialist

Job Location: Westbrook, Maine
Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining infrastructure systems while adhering to standards. The incumbent will have in-depth knowledge of servers, storage, and networking with a high attention to detail. Will work on complex projects independently and relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish goals set forth by the Team Lead Infrastructure Support and the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Corporate Information Systems (CIS).

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and assisting with the implementation of the Enterprise server, storage, and networking.
  • Adhere to standard practices set forth by the Team Lead Infrastructure Support and Assistant Vice President – Corporate Information Systems.
  • Provision Enterprise resources for other technology areas as prescribed by the Team Lead Infrastructure Support and the AVP of CIS.
  • Provide email, telephone, and in-person support to all departments as determined by the Team Lead Infrastructure Support and Assistant Vice President – Corporate Information Systems.
  • Responsible for network data backup and recovery. This includes data replication, maintenance, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • This role requires after hours on-call support as scheduled by the Team Lead Infrastructure Support
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • At least 5 years of combined education and experience managing a sophisticated data center and technical staff.
  • Well versed in all core data center infrastructure key components (server hardware, network routing and firewalls, storage systems, and administrative software).
  • Deep knowledge of virtualization platforms.
  • Ability to lead concurrent complex technical projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively complete the annual budget and planning process.
  • Proficiency with standard PC programs and functions.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information effectively and efficiently.
  • High level of organizational skills necessary for prioritizing and managing varying responsibilities and workloads.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a challenging and diverse environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and adjust priorities with little notice.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills in order to continually expand knowledge base and advance with industry changes.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems by generating, evaluating, and implementing solutions.
  • Willingness to work and seek out new work challenges.
