Symitar® Basic for Tellers
Best Suited For: New employees in their first 30 days
Symitar Experience Level: None
Cost: $400
Duration: In-person: Two days, 9:00 am-4:00 pm EST both days. Remote: Three days, 9:00 am-1:00 pm EST
Location: Remote or in-person in Westbrook, Maine
Remote Dates: June 6-8, August 8-10, October 10-12, December 5-7
In-Person Dates: May 16-17, September 12-13, November 14-15
Symitar Basic for Tellers will prepare a new teller for basic transactions with interactive instruction and practice. We will review cash handling skills, check fraud, and basic customer service skills in support of the technical skill of using the Jack Henry™ Symitar® core platform.
Key Objectives:
- Navigate Account Manager to find basic information
- Perform everyday teller transactions
- Interpret the information found in transaction history
- Review cash handling best practices
- Balance a teller drawer and research and correct errors
- Perform voids
- Perform transaction in Shared Branching

Symitar® Advanced for Tellers
Best Suited For: Employees in their first 3-6 months
Symitar Experience Level: Basic
Cost: $175
Duration: One day, 9:00 am-12:30 pm EST

In-Person Dates: May 23, November 8
Symitar Advanced for Tellers is designed to provide interactive instruction and practice in advanced teller transactions and situations on the Jack Henry™ Symitar® core platform. This class will build upon the basic skill in teller and staff will return to their credit union with a deeper understanding of the general functionality of Symitar and will be able to conduct more member transactions.
Key Objectives:
- Perform advanced transaction history research
- Perform advanced account research
- Basic understanding of bonds, CDs and IRAs
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling

Shared Branching with Symitar®
Best Suited For: Any Employee
Symitar Experience Level: Basic
Cost: $125
Duration: One day, 9:00-11:00 am EST
Location: Remote or in-person in Westbrook, Maine
Remote Dates: April 20
In-Person Dates: October 17
Shared Branching with Symitar is designed for newer staff that is not as confident in shared branching or as a refresher for more experienced staff. This 2-hour session will delve into Shared Branching transactions, reversals and best practices with hands on practice.

- Identify Shared Branching best practices

Attendees learn the history and social purpose of co-ops and credit unions. Participants leave with a greater understanding of just how special credit unions are and why the Eight Cooperative Principles are at the heart of good business practices in our industry.
