Synergent Equifax Data Breach Resource Page

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the credit reporting agency Equifax announced the discovery of a data breach that occurred from mid-May through July 2017, potentially impacting up to 143 million U.S. consumers. The information accessed primarily included names, social security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers. Additionally, about 209,000 credit card numbers and dispute documents for 182,000 consumers were impacted.

In an effort to assist our credit union partners with their member communications as a result of this breach, Synergent has created this resource page that will be updated with new information as it becomes available. Please download our Equifax Communication Template, which includes a summary of links and other resources you can provide to your members.  Information from this communication can be utilized in whatever manner you deem helpful, including online, email, and social media.
