We say it frequently: the payments landscape is always changing. It is a specialized, intricate niche in the financial services industry. In our digital era, with the continual changes comes an increased risk of fraud. Who can credit unions consult as a trusted resource?

Rebekah Higgins has been appointed to the new role of Payments and Fraud Consultant. Her extensive expertise spans over 20 years at Synergent alone. During this time, she has built strong relationships with credit unions across the country. As a subject matter expert, she has presented at numerous credit unions and conferences, and regularly appears in the media as a thought leader. Her involvement in several payment advisory committees has helped credit unions be heard at both the local and national levels.

A Customized Approach

“I’m excited to be working directly with credit unions in my new role,” shared Higgins. “Over the past year, credit unions have shared feedback that they are experiencing challenges in developing payments strategies that increase member adoption rates, minimize losses, and ensure a high rate of return on transaction processing. The payments space is not one size fits all. The goals and objectives of each credit union are personal and need to be customized accordingly.”

Rebekah is providing numerous consultative services in areas that include:

  • The payments landscape at large
  • Product portfolio reviews
  • Custom ROI documentation for value-added services
  • Focus groups to gather credit union feedback

“We want to hear from credit unions to ensure that Synergent remains focused on the right payments products, at the right time, so the right service is being provided to members,” said Higgins. “I am excited about this increased focus and being able to positively impact the credit unions that we work with.”
