Desktop Support Specialist

This is an entry-level position with daily responsibility for resolving internal support requests, training staff, deploying and maintaining desktop hardware/software, and coordinating with third-party vendors on repairs. The incumbent is responsible for serving in a backup capacity for quote preparation and purchasing of hardware/software as directed by the Assistant Vice President – Corporate Information Systems. This position requires a limited amount of after-hours support in the event of emergencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Continually develop a thorough knowledge of the End User Computing (EUC) environment and provide first-tier support for resolution of staff technical requests and issues as they relate to EUC.
  • Deploy and maintain staff-related hardware and software, including tracking of assets provisioned.
  • Responsible for issue escalation to the Senior Desktop Support Specialist tier of support and follow-through on resolution or higher escalation if required.
  • Train staff on new technology and services deployed.
  • Modify existing employee network accounts and associated permissions/group settings.
