Thank you to everyone who joined us in helping to end hunger in Maine! The Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger $100,000 Challenge exceeded its goal for 2024. While final fundraising numbers are still being tabulated, we know that over $154,498 was raised by the Challenge in October! The Campaign secured nearly $103,000 in donations from credit unions, Synergent, vendor partners, members, and employees—a huge feat in just 31 days. Credit unions across the state also held events throughout the month. The current tally from events alone is $51,498 and we anticipate this figure will grow even higher as credit unions finalize and report in their results.
“Synergent is pleased to continue to support the Campaign for Ending Hunger as our signature social responsibility initiative and I am thrilled that the $100,000 was such a great success this year,” said Randy Stolp, President of Synergent. “The real success is in helping end hunger and make an impact here in our home state of Maine. The Campaign supports local food pantries, Good Shepherd Food Bank, meal sites, and—new for 2024—a hunger relief initiative with Special Olympics Maine. So much good was accomplished through the Challenge.”
While the $100,000 Challenge has come to an end for 2024, donations to the Campaign for Ending Hunger are accepted year-round. Donations can always be made at https://campaignforendinghunger.org/donate/.
