Synergent’s mission is to “help credit unions succeed and improve the financial lives of their members.” In our monthly Employee Spotlight series, we feature one of our dedicated staff members to help you get to know the people who are working as an extension of your credit union team.

Chantel Stevens

For 17 years, Chantel Stevens has been a driving force at Synergent, fostering teamwork and delivering impactful results both across the organization and for the credit unions we serve. In her current role as Team Lead for Business Analysts on the Rapid Response Research team, Stevens plays a vital role in shaping Synergent’s approach to addressing high-priority, time-sensitive requests from credit unions.

A natural collaborator and innovator, Stevens leads with a focus on efficiency, creativity, and innovation, ensuring that systems and processes continually evolve to help credit unions operate more effectively and provide the best service.

“In my role, I support credit unions by enhancing existing tools and developing new solutions that empower them to better serve their members,” Stevens explained. “Whether it’s streamlining decision-making processes or improving operational efficiency, the work I do helps credit unions deliver meaningful value. By enabling teams to make informed, member-focused decisions, I feel proud to contribute to the broader mission of supporting communities through cooperative financial services.”

Quick Solutions for Credit Union Operations

Established in 2024, the Rapid Response Research team—fondly dubbed “the Triple R team”—was created to streamline smaller, high-impact requests, often those requiring fewer than ten hours to complete. Known for its problem-solving skills, the group handles most core SymForm modifications and development while also joining forces across departments to deliver timely solutions that enhance credit unions’ daily operations. Stevens’ leadership has been instrumental in shaping a team that adapts quickly.

“A typical day in my role involves working closely with both internal and external teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality services and products to our credit unions,” Stevens explained. “I actively support my colleagues by offering assistance in any capacity needed. By working together, we help our credit union partners improve their ability to serve their members and provide exceptional financial services, ultimately contributing to a smoother and more effective day-to-day experience for all involved.”

Stevens and the Triple R team are always ready to step in whenever needed, and the array of requests they receive makes each day different. That variety is part of what keeps her energized, from tackling complex problems to developing innovative ideas. Plus, the fast pace keeps her sharp, and the teamwork keeps her motivated.

“What I enjoy most about my job is the variety and energy each day brings,” Stevens said. “No two days are the same—it’s always busy, engaging, and full of opportunities to assist others. I truly appreciate being part of a larger department where everyone plays a role in driving meaningful impact. That sense of connection and shared purpose makes the work both fulfilling and motivating.”

A Career Path Rooted in the Credit Union Mission

Stevens’s path at Synergent has been one of continuous growth. Over the years, she’s taken on new challenges, expanded her skill set, and embraced opportunities to learn from others. Each role along the way has built upon the last, leading her naturally into leadership.

“I began my career at Synergent as a Customer Service Representative before transitioning into the role of Business Analyst,” Stevens shared. “After several years, I moved into the position of Client Success Manager, where I enjoyed fostering strong relationships with clients. However, I found that my passion for analysis remained, and when an opportunity arose, I returned to a Senior Business Analyst role. In 2024, I was presented with an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership position as Team Lead for the Triple R team. This role perfectly aligns with my passion for quickly and efficiently addressing smaller requests, and I felt it was a natural progression to step into a leadership role where I could guide a talented team in this critical area.”

The credit union philosophy continues to influence how Stevens approaches her work. She finds meaning in supporting the cooperative movement and helping others reach their goals. Even without direct member interaction, she knows her contributions help improve lives in tangible ways.

“Having previously worked at a credit union for over 15 years, I’ve found that the cooperative spirit and the People Helping People philosophy have always resonated deeply with me,” Stevens said warmly. “It’s more than just a job—it’s a passion that has shaped my professional journey. While my current role may not involve direct member interaction, I’m proud to contribute behind the scenes in ways that still support that mission. Being part of a team that drives meaningful impact, even indirectly, keeps me inspired and committed every day.”

Teamwork and Trust: Fueling Collaboration and Success

The supportive culture at Synergent has been key to Stevens’ success. Surrounded by skilled, dedicated colleagues, she’s found inspiration and encouragement at every stage of her journey. That atmosphere of mutual respect and teamwork continues to fuel her professional growth.

“Since joining Synergent, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from a team filled with knowledge, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping our credit unions succeed,” Stevens reflected. “The experience has allowed me to put my work ethic to good use while discovering the true power of teamwork at a whole new level. Being part of a group that works toward a common goal has not only expanded my skills, but also deepened my appreciation for the impact we make together.”

Stevens’s proudest moments have come from shared projects that make work easier for credit unions and their members. Each initiative has allowed her to contribute to meaningful change, ensuring that improvements have lasting impact. She values how working together transforms challenges into progress.

“It’s hard to choose just one project that I’m most proud of because working at Synergent has given me the opportunity to contribute to many impactful initiatives,” Stevens said. “Each project I’ve been part of has been designed with the goal of reducing the workload for credit union employees, allowing them to focus more on serving their members. What makes these projects especially meaningful is the collaborative effort between the Synergent team and credit union staff—we work together to deliver effective, thoughtful solutions. That partnership and shared purpose make me proud to be part of such a valuable and mission-driven team.”

Becoming Team Lead has been both a milestone and a meaningful experience for Stevens. It represents the culmination of years of learning, growth, and cooperation. The opportunity to mentor others while contributing strategically has been especially rewarding.

“The highlight of my career has been becoming the Team Lead of a group of incredibly talented individuals—a role that aligns perfectly with my passion at Synergent,” Stevens shared proudly. “Leading this team has given me the opportunity to guide and support others while continuing to deliver high-quality, timely products that make a real difference for our credit unions. Being part of a team that values partnership and excellence makes this role especially meaningful to me.”

Finding Balance: Connection, Nature, and Perspective

Away from work, Stevens values simplicity and connection. Time spent outdoors and with loved ones gives her perspective and balance. Whether relaxing by the water or exploring unfamiliar places, she finds joy in life’s quieter moments.

“Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors,” Stevens said. “Whether it’s a peaceful day by the lake or the thrill of a ride on the open road, these experiences bring me a sense of freedom and relaxation. I also deeply value spending time with those closest to me. Whether we’re simply hanging out or enjoying activities together, those moments of connection and laughter are what I cherish most. It’s all about enjoying life, creating memories, and staying grounded through the things and people I care about.”

Stevens’ approach to work and life reflects a sense of purpose and balance. Her thoughtful leadership, steady optimism, and commitment to collaboration continue to strengthen Synergent’s culture and the credit unions she supports.
