Synergent’s mission is to ‘help credit unions succeed and improve the financial lives of their members.’ In our monthly Employee Spotlight series, we feature one of our dedicated staff members to help you get to know the people who are working as an extension of your credit union team.
Larry Brady, Systems Support Specialist at Synergent, has a passion for solving challenging problems. From working with credit unions to install software and assisting with conversions and mergers, to on-site visits and training, he plays a pivotal role in helping others succeed.
“My position assists the Implementations/Training team with conversions and mergers,” said Brady. “We go onsite for hardware site visits, training room set up, and we are available in-person during the credit union’s live week.”
Demonstrating his cooperative spirit, Brady finds joy in the journey of navigating through difficult situations to find solutions for both credit unions and his peers.
“Working with credit unions on installing our software and relaying how it works is a great adventure, and I have learned so much from my fellow teammates,” Brady reflected.
From Help Desk Support to System Support Specialist
Over the course of his professional career, Brady has worked in a variety of customer service roles.
“I have worked in the customer service field for my entire career since I was 19; it will always be part of me,” mentioned Brady. “I like to help people solve their challenges, whether computer-related or a matter of which type of screws to use on a project. That’s what I am here for: to help.”
His journey to system support stemmed from his personal dedication to customer service, which endured through college. Once a Help Desk Support Specialist position became available, Brady jumped at the opportunity and continued with his passion of helping others.
“I started working with computers in college and took classes for writing programming language. I enjoyed the challenge and wanted to learn more,” observed Brady. “The opportunity came up to work for a small company as a Help Desk Support Specialist and then another role elsewhere as a Computer Operator, so I took on the challenge and have not looked back since.”
Now, in his role at Synergent, Brady works directly with credit union staff and their IT vendors collaborating on permissions, networking, and software peripherals.
“We troubleshoot issues originating from the installation of Symitar and Synergy software,” commented Brady.
Through communication with credit union staff and their vendors, Brady ensures proper solutions are applied to the challenges that often arise from software implementation.
“I help them understand issues, so they know how to fix it next time,” shared Brady.
Supporting People and Teams at Synergent
Helping our credit unions deliver an outstanding member experience is always a top priority for Synergent—which all starts with ensuring our internal teams are consistently improving and meeting credit union needs.
“The best part is when you are working with someone on an issue, and then their face lights up when they understand how the process works and have learned something new,” expressed Brady. “To me, you just can’t make that up.”
When asked, Brady conveyed that his greatest achievement professionally has been helping others learn. Having held various roles at Synergent, Brady offers a well-rounded perspective when it comes to helping others within the organization understand industry challenges. His eagerness to assist others in difficult circumstances stands as a testament to our team’s dedication towards ‘People Helping People.’
“Working in so many areas of the company, I am able to assist in just about all areas to help others learn. I take the knowledge learned from my other positions to assist staff and credit unions with what they are looking for and teach them how to find it,” Brady concluded.
When not taking charge of professional problem-solving at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, maintaining the yard, fishing, traveling, and playing in a local softball league.
