May 2, 2025 | Blog, Employee Spotlight

Synergent’s mission is to ‘help credit unions succeed and improve the financial lives of their members.’ In our monthly Employee Spotlight series, we feature one of our dedicated staff members to help you get to know the people who are working as an extension of your credit union team.

Pam Lovering

Pam Lovering has been a vital force behind some of Synergent’s most complex and mission-critical projects for 12 years. As a Senior Project Manager, she brings an unwavering dedication to guiding credit unions through transitions that are both challenging and transformative.

“My typical day can include a range of tasks, such as conducting internal meetings with assigned project staff, leading status meetings with credit unions to keep them informed about project progress, developing project plans, issuing cases for project work, identifying project risks and meeting with risk owners to discuss mitigation, or facilitating meetings with third-party vendors for any core integrations needed on a given project,” Lovering explained. “Some days are really wild, and others are really tame!”

Growing with Synergent

Over the years, as Lovering’s knowledge and experience grew, so did the opportunities for her within the organization. Her career reflects her ongoing commitment to grow her skills to meet evolving needs both internally and for the credit unions that we serve.

“When I started at Synergent, I was the only Project Coordinator in the organization,” Lovering recalled. “We did not have a project management office formulated yet. I was doing a wide range of projects from online banking implementations and Symitar releases to end-of-year projects. Over the years, I was promoted to Project Manager and then Senior Project Manager, with the focus on doing core conversions, mergers, and migrations. Our team has built up a very large library of project plans, lessons learned, and other critical documentation that helps us implement projects of all sizes and complexities.”

Before joining Synergent, Lovering had already built a solid professional foundation in a different field—bringing valuable experience with her. She found her way to project management, finding it to be the right fit for her. When asked what drew her to this field, she reflects on a career path that seemed meant to be.

“I came from a background in Healthcare IT,” Lovering noted. “Some of my experience was in IT support roles and some was in various management roles, which included project management. I am not sure that I chose it so much as it chose me… It was a natural fit. I find what I do to be very rewarding. My coworkers are truly the best! We all work exceptionally hard, but we also find time for a few laughs here and there. Everyone is so willing to lend a hand when they can.”

Driving Credit Union Success Through Important Transitions

Lovering’s work makes a significant, lasting difference for the credit unions Synergent serves.  Through her leadership on core conversions, mergers, and other complex projects, she helps credit unions move through critical changes with clarity and confidence. Her strategic guidance and attention to detail ensure these transitions are not only smooth but also set the foundation for future growth. With every project, she strengthens the credit union’s ability to serve its members more effectively—now and into the future.

“My role significantly impacts our credit unions,” Lovering emphasized. “Core conversions and mergers are substantial and stressful undertakings for credit union staff. It is crucial that they understand the process and its implications for both their team and their members. Equally important is ensuring they have confidence in their partners to guide them successfully to the finish line.”

Among the many fulfilling aspects of her job, one stands out most.

“My favorite part about my job is working with our credit unions directly and helping them grow,” Lovering enthused. “So much teamwork goes into making these large projects successful.”

Lovering embraces continuous learning and sees it as a central part of her journey at Synergent. She actively looks for ways to grow her expertise and stay ahead of the evolving needs of the credit unions she serves. This mindset has shaped her career and made her a trusted leader in managing high-impact projects. Her ongoing curiosity and commitment to learning help elevate both her own work and the service experience of every credit union she supports.

“The learning never ends,” Lovering reflected. “There is always something new to learn and to grow with.”

Leading with Expertise

Lovering has worked on numerous projects over the years at Synergent. Her trusted expertise in managing projects ensures a smooth experience for all involved. Among the many projects she’s worked on, one stands out as especially meaningful.

“There are so many projects I am proud of,” Lovering recalled. “We did a merger for one of our largest credit unions. There were so many logistics to consider and manage, but the merger was highly successful. I am so proud of everything our entire team did to make that the best outcome possible for the credit union. And I feel so fortunate to work with so many talented individuals here at Synergent.”

Outside of work, Lovering finds joy in life’s simple pleasures and the people she loves.

“When I am not at work, I enjoy reading a good book, hanging out with my grandchildren, gardening, or just enjoying the great outdoors and nature,” Lovering shared.
