Gearing Up for the Connect User Conference

Synergent is a managed services provider like no other. Not only are we one-stop for credit unions to obtain necessary services, including marketing, digital banking, programming, business intelligence, and core processing, credit unions who partner with Synergent truly become part of a community.

Once a year, the whole community is invited to Maine for the Connect User Conference, an event that is a great value-add exclusively for credit unions who partner with Synergent for marketing, payments, and/or technology products and services. This year’s conference kicks off with a Casco Bay cruise and lobster bake on the evening of Wednesday, August 21, before launching into an informative day Thursday, August 22, that will cover payments, marketing, and technology tips, news, and trends, presented by guest speakers and our subject-matter experts.

“It’s a family reunion,” remarked Scott Johnsen, Senior Vice President of Operations for Synergent. “I made that comment sincerely at the start of last year’s conference, and it really captures the essence of the event. Credit unions who attend are able to connect with products, services, the Synergent staff members they work with every day, and credit unions from all over the country who often have similar questions and concerns. It’s valuable to connect in-person to share information and learn the latest tips. We all are in the business of People Helping People and want to help each other succeed.”

The Event

This year marks the second time the Connect User Conference is being offered, expanding on the popular Technology Workshop that had been offered for 10 years prior. The change was made to include all credit union users across our service areas.

“We wanted to invite even more of our credit union users, and expanded our agenda to include payments and marketing, while still covering technology topics. Our goal is to provide credit unions with the knowledge and resources to help them perform their very best,” explained Ben Jordan, Senior Vice President of Product Development for Synergent.

Speakers & Topics

Lee Wetherington, Director of Strategic Insight for Jack Henry & Associates, is the event’s keynote speaker. His presentation, “The State of Everything – and What It Means for Credit Unions,” will provide an entertaining and thought-provoking take on the state of digital, payments, data, and the future of credit unions. In his role at Jack Henry & Associates, Wetherington directs the development of actionable insight and strategy for the financial services industry at large. He creates programs, presentations, and articles designed to orient and educate financial executives on the trends and implications of new technologies. He also delivers keynotes nationwide focusing on opportunities and challenges in FinTech, payments and digital banking, and is widely renowned for his unique style of comedic delivery.

The day also will provide an opportunity to connect with our in-house payments, marketing, and technology subject matter experts with a panel discussion focused on product innovation. As an ever evolving, essential offering for members, digital banking options will also be covered by our vendor partners Banno and Alkami. The popular Q&A session with open dialogue will again provide a unique opportunity to ask questions of both our subject-matter experts and for credit unions to collaborate with each other.
